Summer Camp at SPS

Summer Reach 2023
We are pleased to announce the dates for our Summer REACH Camp program for children ages 3 – 5, who are rising Preschool, Prekindergarten or Kindergarten students! Camp will run for 7 weeks, from June 20 (no camp on Juneteenth) – August 4, 2023.

Campers Ages

For Ages 3 – 5 (rising PS, PK and K)

Campers must be potty trained by the start of camp

Camp Day Options

Half Day from 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Full Day from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

After Care from 3:00 – 5:00 PM

  3. Toggle to the “New family” tab if it is your first time registering for camp with this system, or select “Already a member” if you registered last year, to login.



Half Day from 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM // $250 per week

Full Day from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM // $350 per week

Full Day + After Care from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM // $450 per week

Multi-Week Discount for 4+ Weeks // 10%

All 7 Weeks + After Care // $2,800

To ensure a safe summer experience for our campers and counselors, we will follow the most updated guidelines from the Philadelphia Department of Health and the CDC as of the start of camp in June, from masking and frequent handwashing, social distancing and cohorting, to increased ventilation and time spent outside.


Campers should come to camp ready to play, indoors and out. Comfortable clothing is suggested, as is sunscreen, a bathing suit and towel for water play, and a packed lunch. A healthy morning and afternoon snack will be provided. Please no toys or games from home. We’ll provide the fun!

Available from 3:00 – 5:00 PM, offering open play and supervision for campers staying for an Extended Day. 


WEEK 1 (6/27 – 7/1): Magic of ScienceLet’s make some magic happen! Through a series of hands-on activities, demonstrations, and experimental artworks, campers will become science wizards as they learn about all the ways that science can seem like “Magic”!

WEEK 2 (7/5 – 7/8): Building Bigger, and BetterHow are buildings so tall? What makes bridges stand up? How is it possible to build a tunnel through a mountain? These are the kinds of questions that will be answered through the exploration of introductory engineering and construction concepts. Throughout the week, campers will participate in games and DIY experimentation projects that will develop their problem-solving skills and pique their interest in the engineering field.

WEEK 3 (7/11 – 7/15): Futuristic Fun –  Have you ever wondered what kind of amazing technology will change our lives in the future? Through lessons about past inventors, potential futures, and inventions, campers will learn how to become pioneers for future technology! Campers will think creatively to develop innovative solutions and new inventions.

WEEK 4 (7/18 – 7/22): Space is the PlaceWhat lies at the outermost regions of our solar system? This week will be dedicated to outer space and what lies beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Campers will expand their knowledge of space through music, games, and other interactive learning programming. The week will end in a collaborative solar system model project, where campers can imagine themselves as astronauts!

WEEK 5 (7/25 – 7/29): EarthLoveEarth Day can be every day this week. Campers will learn about ecosystems such as deserts, forests, and oceans as well as the animals and plant life that inhabit them. By the week’s end, campers will have a better understanding of what there is to appreciate in the environment and why it is so important to protect the planet and plan for a more sustainable future.

WEEK 6 (8/1 – 8/5): Celebrating Cultures – Bienvenido, ‘ahlaan bik, huānyíng and welcome to our week of celebrating all the cultures that make our community unique. We’re singing songs, dancing around the room, creating art and learning all about our big beautiful world. You’re invited to the party!

WEEK 7 (8/8 – 8/12): Full CircleIt’s time to share all we’ve done! During the final week, campers will engage in activities across all the topics covered during camp and revisit the importance of each week’s theme. Campers will create something to represent the area of STEAM that interested them most, and share what they learned from it!
