Nearly 200 years in Philadelphia

A different kind of school.

The kind Philadelphia families have been choosing for nearly 200 years.

At St. Peter's School, we believe childhood itself is worth honoring. Not just the academics — though those matter deeply — but the curiosity, the friendships, the moments of discovery that shape who a child becomes.

We are a small, independent, nonreligious school where students don't get lost. Teachers know their names, their interests, and how they learn. Families become part of a community that lasts well beyond 8th Grade.

If you're looking for a school that pairs genuine academic rigor with the kind of warmth and belonging every child deserves, you're in the right place.

Everything a great school should be.

A City That Teaches
Our City Curriculum uses the history, culture, and people of Philadelphia as an extension of the classroom. Students learn about the world by learning in the world.
A Whole-Child Education
From Preschool through 8th grade, we balance strong academics with social-emotional growth. Students leave SPS confident, curious, and genuinely ready for what comes next.
A Community That Knows You
With roughly 170 students across all grades, every child is seen here. Small class sizes mean real relationships between students, teachers, and families, that grow over the years.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to send our daughter to preschool at St. Peter’s. This place warms my heart daily with the individualized care and attention to all the unique and vibrant traits each child brings to the classroom.
