The SPS Annual Auction is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and a whole lot of fun for the entire community.
Greetings from the SPS Parents’ Association, and welcome to all new SPS families! Though the beginning of the school year is still weeks away, we look forward to the upcoming year and welcoming friends old and new.
The recent events in Atlanta, along with many disturbing examples of hate toward Asian American and Pacific Islanders in our society shine a light on the need for us to continue our support for those in our community who have felt hate and who have been forced to live in fear from the hatred of others. St. Peter’s is an anti-racist community and we will continue to take the opportunity to demonstrate kindness, forgiveness, understanding and empathy as we engage our students, our families and the community around us. We also will find solace in the many ways our community lifts up one another each day, and focus on how we can teach these valuable traits to our students.
National History Day® (NHD) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) are pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Marian Cronin-Connolly, as one of only 15 teachers to contribute to Building a More Perfect Union, a new collection of lesson plans and essays in support of the NEH’s special initiative to advance civic education and the study of U.S. history and culture in preparation for the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.
Despite a lifting of state-wide travel restrictions and other pandemic restrictions city-wide, we are still requiring families to take these precautions following Spring Break travel, and asking families to continue to adhere to the health and safety guidelines (mask wearing, social distancing and cleaning hands) we have been so diligent in upholding throughout the school year.
Our school is participating in the Ronald McDonald House Charities “Read for the House” program, marking 26 years of St. Peter’s School being a part of the success of this incredible endeavor to help ease some of the burdens of families coping with a critically ill child.
SPS utilizes a Continuous Enrollment model for our re-enrollment process. Students are automatically re-enrolled for the upcoming school year unless the School receives an Official Withdrawal Form by a deadline of the third Friday in January, which falls on January 15, 2021.
An overview of our School’s decision to provide periods of virtual instruction for our students, which reflects advice from the SPS Multidisciplinary Advisory Committee and with the support of the Board of Trustees, to proactively respond to worsening viral spread in the broader community.
